Forrest Gump may have compared life to a box of chocolates, but it's often more like a box of IKEA furniture: You open the thing up, only to find you're missing three bolts and the instructions.

The good news is you already have the most important thing necessary to take on life—you!

If you think therapy might be a good option for you, you've come to the right place. If you don't know if therapy is a good option for you, you've still come to the right place!

Frequently Asked Questions

Is counseling a good option for me?

Are you human? Then it probably is!

The pioneering psychologist and psychotherapist Carl Rogers once observed that all humans have the ability to form positive, empathetic relationships that propel them toward growth. We can see glimpses of such relationships in a variety of non-clinical settings: a grandmother’s wisdom; a pastor’s guidance; a friend’s willingness to say what we need to hear. The professional counseling relationship is all that and more, shaped not only by compassion and understanding (what Rogers famously termed “unconditional positive regard”), but by education, experience, and data-driven practices.

Does counseling really work?

Therapy can and does work for millions of people. I may not be able to help you assemble that Vövjostu, but I’m ready to help you with the other problems life may throw your way.

What is your treatment approach?

I favor psychoeducation and cognitive techniques (CBT, CPT, MBCT) to help you learn more about yourself and overcome whatever obstacles are in your way. Together we'll explore the challenges you're facing and work to develop solutions tailored to your particular needs and strengths.

How much do you charge?

$110 for individual sessions, payable by cash, check, or card. I am also able to accept several types of insurance. Feel free to reach out to me if you have specific questions.
